21st March, Ostara or Spring Equinox

Ostara or Spring Equinox is one of the 8 years of feasts. The Spring Festival symbolizes the time of new beginnings. In the Wiccan religion means the same length of night and day, that the light now overtaken the darkness and the goddess awakens and brings fertility to the earth.

The Germans this day was dedicated to the goddess Eostre - Easter moon is preserved in a old German term for April.
And who has ever wondered where the custom of the Easter Bunny comes, brings the eggs to rabbit and eggs are the symbols of the fertility goddess Eostre.
Easter is an ancient festival of spring and also a Moon Festival. You can see it because the church today still directed their Easter after the old lunar calendar. Easter falls on the first Sunday after the 1st Full moon after the vernal equinox.
And it is also among the Christians still Resurrection, where Jesus celebrated the rebirth is.
The Christian festival was first in the Middle Ages the name Easter.

The egg has always been a symbol of rebirth, which is why Easter eggs in most cases - and particularly in Eastern Europe - were colored red, because red was considered the color of life. The fresh, bright red blood was also a sign of special fertility. Young girls who Ostara got your first period were especially honored. Their blood was considered sacred. It was collected and the blessing of the harvest in a ritual of the world over, to increase the fertility of the fields magical. So honestly I am glad that this custom no longer survives to this day added.

The Russians gave it a kind of resurrection spell that was to lay red eggs on the graves. Easter was always occupied by the old myth of death, grave, and resurrection.

I am pleased at least on the 21th March. Spring. And then hopefully there will finally warmer.
